comment strange interaction (bug ?) between mdframed and listings
thanks for all the useful advice. Indeed, tcolorbox is the way to go (and its documentation is wonderful).

comment Font size of inline code-listings too small
the question is about changing style in inline snippets, while your proposal would change style also in whole-paragraph snippets.

comment possible memoir bug with font sizes and \tightlists
Yep, amusing indeed ! I am now going to report a but though, because I noticed that even with both \tightlists and \tightlist, "small" and "footnotesize" itemizes do get too much whitespace around them: i.imgur.com/a8owzi6.png

Thanks David. All your explanation is way above my head, and at the end of the day I still don't know whether this behaviour is a bug or a feature (even memoir seems to have its lot of counter-intuitive impossible-to-guess voodoo !). But your \tightlist workaround does what I wanted, so I'm going to stick to that for now. Cheers.

comment Mix characters from various fonts (in text mode)
Plus, if I decide to got for a \newcommand, then \ensuremath{=} will probably do the trick even in pdflatex.

Thanks for your suggestion. However, I'm looking for a solution which lets me type the regular equals sign.

comment How to get small caps in Classico (texlive 2014)?
This question appears to be off-topic because the problem turned out to be caused by bug, and the bug has since been fixed.

Well. It turns out that my problem was due to a bug in the packaging of the font (some files were missing). The author of classico.sty has uploaded a new version (2014-08-03) to CTAN, and now everything just works great.

kpsewhich uopr8a.pfb prints /opt/local/share/texmf-local/fonts/type1/urw/classico/uopr8a.pfb (I understand this is the expected output)

kpsewhich classico.map returns /opt/local/share/texmf-local/fonts/map/dvips/classico/classico.map which contains this: pastebin.com/H8RL46zY
