comment How to get small caps in Classico (texlive 2014)?
kpsewhich uopr8a.pfb prints /opt/local/share/texmf-local/fonts/type1/urw/classico/uopr8a.pfb (I understand this is the expected output)

kpsewhich classico.map returns /opt/local/share/texmf-local/fonts/map/dvips/classico/classico.map which contains this: pastebin.com/H8RL46zY

Adding \usepackage[T1]{fontenc} does change the .fd file which gets loaded (T1URWClassico-LF.fd vs OT1URWClassico-LF.fd) but that's all I notice.

@daleif: I contacted the author of classico.sty, who suggested the problem was that I hadn't enabled the Map file classico.map. However, udpmap-sys --listmaps does display it as "enabled" ! (updmap transcript). I'm stuck.

@daleif: I'm used to macports, and so far it served me well, so I never looked at mactex. but should I ? and BTW I assume my system is up-to-date, since the version number for my classico.sty is 2014-06-26.

Yes, I did the getnonfreefonts thing, but I suspect it to be somehow outdated, as it goes to CTAN and fetches a file called getfont2013. Could that be (part of) the problem ?

revised How can the dimensions of a box be retrieved with LaTeX
fix typo: mybox vs Abox. sorry for the dummy remainder of my edit, but the site wouldn't let me change just two characters.

Sure. And my point is precisely that I want to be able to type <M-return> at the beginning of each line without having to go fishing for my dashes :-)

comment Is reStructuredText compatible with the memoir class?
thanks for that. However I now use ''pandoc'' (as per suggested in the comments above) and am much happier with it than Rst. cheers.

@Sveinung thanks heaps for telling me about pandoc. I've just dropped docutils for pandoc, and I think I won't need to look back ever (I'm not even going to report the "bug" to docutils :-)

The implementation uses the same code to handle regular sectioning as well: chapters, sections and so on all get their \phantomsection and their \label. This does make some more sense, but yet it still upsets memoir. And now I wonder where I should report the bug: is that a memoir problem, or a docutils bug ?
