comment What is the easiest way to mimic an existing PowerPoint template using Beamer?
You can use the powerpoint background and decorative elements and include them using tikz. Same with the title page. For the font you should look into LuaTeX. I think it is doable, but takes some tweaking.

revised Generating pgfplots legend from gnuplot data
Noticed that gnuplot has log10 function. Replaced log(a)/log(10) with log10(a)

comment Generating pgfplots legend from gnuplot data
Look at my answer. The idea is to convert the small number into two numbers (outside of latex) The factor an the exponent. Those are not small, so you'll have no problem

You could run the fit data through (for example) sed and format it so you separate the exponent from the factor and reduce the precision of the numbers. Or look into gnuplot if you could change the output format there...

comment Changing the size of this latex CV template from A4 to letter size
Welcome to TeX Stackexchange. It is easier to help you if you add a minimum working example (code from \documentclass until \end{document}) that can be compiled. This way we can recreate the problem and then try to solve it.

comment Force newline in sequence diagram comment
Welcome to TeX.SX! Please help us to help you and add a minimal working example (MWE) that illustrates your problem. It will be much easier for us to reproduce your situation and find out what the issue is when we see compilable code, starting with \documentclass{...} and ending with \end{document}.

comment I want in my frames some sketch of two columns, presenting an image and at right the description of the image
Your example seems to work. If you explain your problem a little bit more detailed, it might be easier to help you.

@Harald, that would be fine with me.

comment Two logos in opposite side on beamer with sidebar
@Harald it looks like a duplicate. PaloAlto and Berkeley use the sidebar outer theme. The only difference between the linked and my solution seem to be, that the other one repeats the vrule and hskip lines to get the darker background on the right too.
