What is the easiest way to plot a function and its tangent lines at the turning points? Nice answer so far. I want to add that you could take a look at pgfplots. It is based on TikZ but offers many possibilities to plot great graphs. |

Still showing the file is missing after installing the package of MikTeX @UlrikeFischer I updated miktex-runtime-bin and miktex-bin today. Some of my tex-files cannot be compiled anymore; there are suddenly hundreds of error messages. Replacing miktex209-core.dll with an older version does not help. Are there any other files I have to replace? I am asking because I want to avoid a new installation of my miktex version. |

Odd result in pgfplots when scale and set layers is used together I fear you are right and this is a bug in pgfplots – but only a little bug in a wonderful package! Your workaround works perfectly – thanks for posting it! |
