comment Passing a command as an argument
Thanks for your help! I try to find ways to use forestin an effective way. This involves tikz and both packages are very powerful. I learn from the examples by going then back to the manual and try to understand what is going on. The code is not mine and of course people would have done it differently if they new all the possible ways I wanted to use and misuse it. In any case I am very grateful to all the help I got here. By you and others. Thanks again!

comment Relating tree nodes in forest to content in a table
It was in the original without libertine as well. I just did not notice it before. I added a MWE (removed some stuff).

There seems to be a problem if another font is used. Please see my edit.

comment Incompatibility of calc and some styles for forest
Ah, OK. Yes. Thank you very much! So the solution is to keep my style for usual trees with a translation and use the version that you used for examples like the one at hand in which there is no translation anyway. One probably could go more complicated and try to come up with something that allows translations in cases like the one at hand, but may be this is overkill ... Thanks!

comment How can I force bibliography items not to be split across pages?
I had a situation in which I had a widow left. Using this code fixed three widows, but one remained. Maybe LaTeX didn't see a way to get rid of it. egreg's solution worked better in the case at hand, but may leave huge gaps in other documents, as you pointed out. So both solutions are useful. Thanks!

I tried it now. Did not work.

comment Relating tree nodes in forest to content in a table
Thanks again! Could you please explain what these computations do? I cannot understand them. The box containing right SB has to be below V0 and I0. Is there a way to shift it to the right and maybe extend it to the right?

comment Relating tree nodes in forest to content in a table
Thanks a lot! A very cool solution! And I learned a new word (abhorrent). I was ready to use this solution, but then discovered that I need the vertical lines, since they have meaning. They correspond to areas in the sentence (prefield, left sentence bracket, middle field, right sentence bracket). The middle field is divided into two parts: the subject and the other phrases in the VP. This was depicted by the vertical lines.

Just putting the table (tabular) inside the forest environment? I will try.

comment Shifting a node over another node in forest
Thanks a lot! This is of course much better, than shifting nodes around. The order of the words is off, since this is an example for a structure that should not exist.

Yes. Thanks! I searched stackexchange, but did not find this one.

comment Aligning forest trees and getting the bounding box right
OK, thanks! Just for better understnading: Putting my trees into the node called tree causes tikzto determine the size of this object and this also solves the problem with the distance to the caption, right?

comment Getting old school trees with forest
Thanks! I took the fit=band option, although I do not see a difference for the examples at hand. I added the fit-declaration to the style declaration so that it applies to all nodes automatically. Thanks a lot! This package is a monster! But I am getting closer to understanding something. =:-)

comment Connecting two nodes from different forest trees
Yes, this is true. The bending of the line is different, but I will find out how this is done. Thanks for pointing me to this solution!

Thanks! When I load it, I get an error telling me that \clipbox is already defined. Hm.

comment Smaller roofs for forest
Thanks! This is very cool! There is one tiny remaining problem: If some or all words are not glossed, LaTeX complains. If one has abstract elements in the tree that are not glossed, such situations could arise.

comment Smaller roofs for forest
Thanks! In another question (tex.stackexchange.com/questions/204770/…) I learned that one can pass parameters to annotation of node and set a default value. So wouldn't it be possible to pass a certain length to the triangle annotation and the tree layout would work as usual but the triangle would be drawn according to this length? Even better: One could just pass the string along and let the triangle code determine its length. I am asking because I have lots of such trees ... Thanks! =:-)

comment Defining a special edge style for connecting nodes in forest
Thanks a lot! This manual is very complex and I would never have made it. The parameter and the default is very cool!

comment Connecting arbitrary text in `forest`
Thanks, but this does not take into account the size of the text. It is just one point, right? I could not refer to the top of the lower 1, could I?
