Sure. (He said, without checking what the problem of section 4.1 was :D )

I'll have to doublecheck, I vaguely recall defining \nag@captionprovider and \nag@labelprovider for that purpose. But you're correct, it won't distinguish the starred form.

Is this the code that ended up in the semioneside package (mirror.ctan.org/macros/latex/contrib/semioneside)?

comment Having several keys refer to the same bibliography entry
I've packed it up at absatzen.de, but I don't remember why it's v0.2 anymore. (Also, it's quite possible that it will not work with more advanced syntactic forms of \cite. I think it'll accept anything that has a comma-separated list of labels as the first mandatory argument and pretty arbitrary stuff between the command and that argument.)

comment Skipping line after “Proof” in proof environment
@Stefan: as implicitly pointed out by Gonzalo, proof has an optional argument.

@GonzaloMedina: Thanks, I'm a bit swamped at work right now and didn't get around to it.

comment Shaded theorems (thmtools) spanning pages
@TGSM: thmtools' shade and box settings all pass through to thmbox (if I recall) anyway. Nothing stops you from adding \begin{mdframed} (or whatever its syntax is) to the beforehead/afterfoot hooks.

comment What would you like to change about TeX/LaTeX/XeTeX/etc.?
How is "What would you like to change about TeX/LaTeX/XeTeX/etc.?" a discussion solely of the tex(1) executable? (Never mind the fact that the unfortunate naming dates back to the TeXbook, as far as I recall.)

comment Multi-OS Portable TeX system
I think the only "non-portable" aspect of the linux version is that the installer can put symlinks in /usr/bin, so there's not much danger of things going wrong there.

Looking at tug.org/texlive/doc/texlive-en/texlive-en.html#x1-410004, you might be fine just installing in Windows (to be on the safe side), and using the portable option.

The TL installer used to let you select multiple sets of binaries to install, but I don't know if it still does in TL2011. I don't know if the format files are cross-platform compatible, though, so maybe you'd have to duplicate the TEXMF tree those live in.

@donkeykong: no, though you might need to specify a graphics rule for type mps, then pdflatex will handle MetaPOST just fine.

comment Macro included via \include
Hm. \selectlanguage throwing an error might be a regression in babel, I'll have to check that at some point. It used to not-complain in 2008 when I wrote absatzen.de/babelauthor.sty (which would solve-by-overkill for the present question).
