comment Trees with only leaves in TikZ
@GonzaloMedina: I've included your code. Please feel free to edit. And thanks for your comment. I'm just starting to understand and use forest programming power so your examples are always helpful.

comment Can the navigation headbar link to a specific frame in the section, rather than the first one?
Yes I know what you mean. I just wanted to propose some poor man solution. As an example, jumping to the last slide of the section could be done jumping to next section and one slide back.

I've not tested but according to section 8.2.4. The Navigation Symbols (page 71): "Clicking on the left side of a frame icon will jump to the first slide of the frame, clicking on the right side will jump to the last slide of the frame (this can be useful for skipping overlays)." Therefore, once on the frame you will arrive to the slide with all bullets displayed clicking on the right side of frame icon.

Two more options without using calc library: \draw (a) --++(90:.5)-|(b); or \draw(a) --([yshift=.5cm]a.center)-|(b);.

I'm not sure about what you want to obtain. Is it similar to \addplot [markstart] coordinates { (0,0) }; \addplot [no marks] coordinates { (0,0) (0.01,0) (0.01,0.01) (0.04,0.03) (.5,.5) };?

comment pgf Error: Arrow end type ``latex''' unknown
I cannot answer until you explain how is your main file and what's lines from your example are in subfile and how mainfile calls subfile but if your subfile only includes the figure, all libraries and packages needed for subfiles should be included in mainfiles.

How do you call the subfile from main file? What lines from your example are included in subfile? Do you include usetikzlibrary{arrows} in main file? ...
