Thanks for your answer, and to everyone who comment under my original question, some really great info has been posted here. I have emailed my tutor to ask about PDF submissions. If I get a "yes" I will make the transition to LaTeX. If not, I shall postpone what I expect to be long term relationship between myself and LaTeX till after the dissertation when I freely right my own papers. Cheers ;)

Thanks for giving a view from the other side of the table, someone who has gone back to Word :)

@DavidCarlisle "complain that the rules are silly" as I have just mentioned, this is for feed back purposes so hopefully you understand.

@DavidCarlisle several of you are saying stay away from LaTex, perhaps I need to learn how to create some sort of formatting template for LibreOffice to keep the document consistant. Cheers.

@Kurt I see, that does make sense. I have to submit in doc or docx so that the tutor can add in comments or highlight text for review for example, and send it back to me for updating/re-editing etc.

@Kurt If I won't want to go back to Word, sounds like I should be using LaTeX! I feel no loyalty towards Word, I just have to submit in that file format.
