comment Redirecting *.aux, *.log files, with a command in the tex file
It makes the folder containing the tex file look messy. I am sorry if this reasoning isn't good enough, but I thought if I can manage to move the aux files to another location, we can easily locate the tex files in a folder.

comment Making uses of cleveref packages standalone
@Bordaigorl Sorry if I wasn't clear. I intend to make the tex file compile as a single file, without needing any style files, etc. I want the directory to have just the tex file and the images it needs.

comment How to cross-reference several objects simultaneously
Thanks. The \cref command for referencing one equation fits with the format I needed. However for multiple labels, it seems to place a "and" in between the references. Moreover, when I try to extend \cref to Lemma and Theorem environments as: \crefformat{lemma}{Lemma.~(#2{}#1{}#3)}. I loose the parenthesis around the equation number in the reference (pdf) when I call \cref with multiple labels.

comment How to cross-reference several objects simultaneously
Does cleveref package have any conflicts with hyperref, because i used \cref{label1,lebel2} and it simply gives: " ???? " in the pdf.

comment Unknown package calc error in bibliography
I presume you asked for a link to the style file containing the above \setlength{...}{...} command. Here is a zip file containing the style file: rintonpress.com/style/QIC-latex2e.zip . When I use the package qic with amsmath, amssymb, xfig, algorithm} it is giving the error I had mentioned.
