I am a PhD candidate at the University of New South Wales. I love LaTeX because it makes my documents look fantastic and I can do all sorts of presentation and data-integration tricks that Word or OO users wouldn't be able to do in a million years, in particular, integrating R with LaTeX is a great combination.

I encourage my colleagues to use LaTeX, but not many people are willing to go through the (quick) learning curve despite recognizing and commenting on the obvious presentation differences...

comment What You See is What You Get (WYSIWYG) for PGF/TikZ?
in the folder containing the source files, is there a tikzedt file with executable permissions? I simply run that file, it has a single line inside as thus: mono TikzEdtWForms.exe.

In other words, the there is a very good reason why include{...} by default starts on a new page, and that is to ensure layout consistency on the assumption you may be using the includeonly{...} command at some stage.

Just be aware that if you use newclude (or equivalent) and also includeonly{...} as a means to increase compilation speed when you are working on your document, without an explicit break (\clearpage) before each include{...} the layout may actually be very different in your final document, compared to what you are working on depending on how the sections NOT listed in (and before) the includeonly{...} command finish.

If you don't want pagebreak after include use the newclude package. stackoverflow.com/questions/1209065/…

comment How to force a certain sorting of two .bib entries?
@preamble is cool, I use it for doing subscripts and superscripts in the titles. ie, @PREAMBLE{"\newcommand{\sub}[1]{\ensuremath{_\textnormal{#1}}}\newcommand{\supe‌r}[1]{\ensuremath{^\textnormal{#1}}}\newcommand{\bibmath}[1]{\ensuremath{#1}}"}
