thanks a lot! But, could your solution work without the new command \NorwegianLanguage? could "\ifx\ReportLanguage\NorwegianLanguage" be exchanged with "\ifx\ReportLanguage no" ?

Hi again..I have encountered one potential problem with the code you suggested. If there is any \ref{sec-appendix} above the \iflabelexists line, then your code interpret this as if the label exists, that is, that \label{sec-appendix} exists, when I add \end{document} before \appendix.

Follow up question: It seems like pandoc needs all latex code to be contained within the sinlge .tex file being processed. But I have numerous occurences of \inpu{} in my masterfile. Are there any functionality in latex letting me construct a new masterfile where all the input files are copied into the masterfile instead of being referred to with the \input{} command ?
