comment \right) results in opening another left parenthesis
Under the link I provided you will find some instructions that will help you to cut down the template and home in on the problem. Once you have a short example, post it here and the problem will almost certainly be resolved. Without an example code that reproduces the problem it's unlikely that anyone will guess what the template author has done. Over the years I've seen a lot of people do a lot of very silly things with (La)TeX.

Without an example that reproduces the problem, it is unlikely that anyone will be able to help you, and your question may be closed as a result. There is some guidance on preparing a minimal example here.

At the command line, latex myfile.tex produces a dvi. Then use dvips and ps2pdf to create a pdf version.

OK, I've given a slightly more detailed answer below. It may be that this (or something very similar) has been asked before on this site, but if there is a duplicate, I have been unable to find it.

Using \let makes a copy of a command; I think this is what you need.

comment gnuplottex not recognizing options
@Knigge46 --- you haven't gone far enough! The version of gnuplottex in TeXLive 2012 doesn't have the subfolder option. The version in TL2014 does (I don't know about TL2013). You might get away with just downloading the latest version of gnuplottex from ctan. However, this may cause trouble with other out of date packages. It would be best to install TL2014.

comment how to use unsrt in thebibliography
Your question isn't very clear. Do you just want \bibliographystyle{unsrt}? If not, please add an example that clearly shows what you need.

Try printing from a different pdf viewer application, or using a different printer.
