comment Merging duplicate embedded fonts
I heard a similar thing in the discussion on the PDFTeX mailing list. I guess I have to convert my fonts somehow!

Thank you for looking into this, I wrote an email to the pdftex mailing list. If there is some new on this topic, I'll update the question or provide an/the answer.

I just tried, but it does not fix the problem. I also tried using -1 and 1, but that also did not remove the duplicate fonts.

I assumed I am doing something wrong, resulting in these duplicate fonts. Furthermore, it seemed a waste of space.

Thanks! Your answer fixes the No week day names defined for language 'british' warnings. The updated minimal example does not produce the No support for \ordinal for language 'british' warning. It seems to be triggered by the combination of fancyhdr and datetime. (See my updated question for a minimal example that triggers the warning for me). Any ideas how to get rid of the \ordinal-error?

Using british instead of UKenglish results in the same warnings. \listfiles has dt-british.def and fc-british.def instead of the UKenglish variants in the original post. I use pdfTeX 3.1415926-2.5-1.40.14 (TeX Live 2013/Debian), maybe this is the cause?
