At the moment, I am no longer a student. I do have a MS (2014) in Mechanical Engineering (Control Systems), a BS (2011) in Mathematics, and a BS (2011) in Finance. I am interested in PDEs, ODEs, Complex Analysis, Control Theory, Probability, Kalman Filtering, and Compressed Sensing.

I am waiting to hear back from some universities about my application for a PhD in EE, or if I can find a job that pays well, I might decide to that instead.

Currently, I am reading Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut. In Mathematics, I am reading Complex Analysis by Ahlfors and refreshing myself with Abstract Algebra and Real Analysis by re-reading Dummit and Foote and Rudin, respectively. Afterwords, I will probably read Candide by Voltaire, a different Complex Analysis book, and a book on Measure Theory.

Recently read:

1984 and Animal Farm by George Orwell, Brave New World by Aldous Huxely

Will read:

Lady Chatterley's Lover by D.H. Lawerence and Candide by Voltaire more to come latter.

The refstepcounter will keep the lableing indexed properly too, correct (for any new equations after this one)?

@Ruben try writing out the equations if you need to prove to yourself there are only 4. They key is that the sum on j is built into i so i = 1 has (y_1 + meq/mb(y_1 + y_2 + y_3 + y_4) + ... That is only equation. Then set i = 2.

@Ruben there is in fact a j. When i = 1, we run the sum through j = 1,..., 4 so when. As i indexes, we pick up equations 2, 3, and 4

@barbarabeeton I am sorry but I don't understand what you are asking. Could you perhaps re-phrase it?
