At the moment, I am no longer a student. I do have a MS (2014) in Mechanical Engineering (Control Systems), a BS (2011) in Mathematics, and a BS (2011) in Finance. I am interested in PDEs, ODEs, Complex Analysis, Control Theory, Probability, Kalman Filtering, and Compressed Sensing.

I am waiting to hear back from some universities about my application for a PhD in EE, or if I can find a job that pays well, I might decide to that instead.

Currently, I am reading a Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. In Mathematics, I am reading Complex Analysis by Ahlfors and refreshing myself with Abstract Algebra and Real Analysis by re-reading Dummit and Foote and Rudin, respectively. Afterwords, I will probably read Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut, a different Complex Analysis book, and a book on Measure Theory.

Would it work the placement H?

The problem occurs since I have a figure in the \mbx environment.

I copy and pasted the code and changed the environments to mbxs and mbx but received the message bad register code (32468) \iterate ->\ifdim \dimexpr \ht \myboxes +\dp \myboxes +\ht 0+\dp 0\relax >.9...

A float has the white space above and below it that is what i dont want to induce or add. The boxes can be reorder like latex would do with a float. That is what is meant by intelligent mangement.

Changing columnsep to 3pt did the trick.

My fboxes are overlapping. I dont know why since I have added all the setlengths as well.

Can you explain \dimexpr\linewidth-2\fboxsep-2\fboxrule\relax so I have a better understanding of this line?

@Sigur I want to stack a bunch of boxes. Each previous qualifying question will get its own box. For box breaking, it depends. I would have to see the results compared to the question being framed.

@Sigur the frame when using mdframed gets chopped off by multicol, the top margin in the first column isn't respected, and the second framed environment wont stack under the first again even though there is space.

@Sigur I moved \noindent inside the multicols environment and the extra padding has been removed.

@Johannes_B I am actually just testing it on the main doc. I don't have any test code. I just added that MWE from scratch.
