comment How does one construct an abstract (n × n) empty grid of squares?
Would you rather do this as a table or as a tikzpicture (since you seem to have included both tags)?

comment draw security protocol
Welcome to Tex.SX! I would suggest you rephrase your question into a more specific request. There are plenty of ways to "draw" that protocol in LaTeX, and knowing what you want in more detail might make it easier to help you.

@Header12 Politely asking you to respect the policy on this site is neither ironic, nor unwarranted criticism. This was no personal attack, just a constructive suggestion with no irony present. If you are willing to use this site, you might as well try to follow its rules. I removed the comments since you were kind enough to improve on your question. I also wish you good luck and refer you to my provided answer.

comment Leaving no space between subfigures using package subcaption
Just realized you included a reference at the bottom of your answer. I just saw your code and didn't keep on reading... might wanna push that link before the code so other impatient people don't miss it :)

Thanks a lot for clarifying. So every time I insert a linebreak into my source file, an extra space gets added into the output? That seems weird... what am I missing? (feel free to tell me to RTFM, as long as you reference said manual :))

I'm confused. I couldn't find any spaces at the end of my lines, and still adding the % helped me fix my problem; my output looks like I wanted... I don't understand which spaces I am omitting, since there were none after the curly braces.

comment Error with $ when using math in TikZ figure
@TorbjørnT. Yes, I very much do. I searched for a similar problem but I don't seem to be very good at searching. Should probably take the time to learn how to do an advanced search.
