comment ConTeXt: Macro within macro for URLs
Untested: you can use \edef\WPpagequestion{...}.

@Manuel, without the noexpand, the goto in the above example will be expanded.

comment Prevent pdflatex from writing a bunch of files
FWIW, ConTeXt stores all the auxiliary information in a single file filename.tuc. So overall, only two extra files are written: filename.tuc and filename.log. If you want, you can compile the document using context --purge filename.tex which will delete the .tuc and .log files at the end of the run.

comment Is there any way to make formulae look like handwriting?
The Euler font is supposed to be modeled after how mathematicians wrote on a black board. An extended Opentype version of the font is available on github as NeoEuler

That is a nice template! I don't have time to debug this completely right now, but the error occurs due to \namedheadnumber{chapter} If you remove that, the error goes away.

comment Running of ConTeXt along with MiKTeX 2.9 windows8 64bit
I don't use Windows. The best idea may be to post to the context mailing list. There are many Windows users of ConTeXt (include Hans Hagen, the developer of ConTeXt), who may be able to figure out why this is happening and how to avoid it.

Did you run: E:\context\tex\setuptex.bat before running context --version?

How did you install ConTeXT? via miktex, texlive, or standalone/minimals?

comment How to make the PDFs produced by `pdflatex` smaller?
Nice that you output actual numbers. For a text only document of about 40 pages (created by ConTeXt), I get a reduction of only 2% in size; but for a 50 page presentation (again created by ConTeXt with lots of images and colors), I get a 40% reduction in size.

comment Why do we use the Latex logo when referring to Latex in text?
FWIW, the standard practise is to write Context as Context rather than the logogram. In fact a few style files (e.g. the one for MAPS) redefine \ConTeXt as Context!

comment context to run side by side with LaTeX in Windows 8 64bit
I am not sure what is going wrong, as I do not have a windows machine. An alternative could be to download ConTeXt Standalone and use that instead of ConTeXt that comes with MikTeX.

Use context first.tex. See context wiki for beginner's guide.

What exact command are you running when you get that error? Does something basic as mtxrun --help work?

comment Why can't TeX Live's size be reduced?
FWIW, ConTeXt Minimals with all the installed packages is 300MB. If you strip away the MkII stuff (including binaries), then the size will be reduced by more than half.
