comment Pgfmath misbehaving when reading negative values from table in Pgfplots
@oarfish This is an old issue and discussed with the authors some time ago on the TikZ/PGF Sourceforge bug report And as egreg mentioned power operation has a priority over negation as a convention unless a grouping with brackets is used.

@werty TeX thinks all underscores are subscripts and gives an error if you are not in math mode. That's why I'm trying to explain it

@werty Is it a text subscript or not? In math mode, it is easy.

comment How to plot this integral function with PSTricks?
With pgfplots you can only do it if you can compute the integral numerically somewhere else. Otherwise you need to switch to PSTricks, Asymptote and so on.

It is a rendering problem. There is not much you can do about it other than removing the antialiasing in adobe reader.

@werty Yes exactly. Notice that underscore is a math active character in TeX in some cases it might cause problems so if you can, avoid it in file names and variables.

comment How to draw a function like sin(x)~cos(x) in tikz/pgfplots?
@ChristianFeuersänger Probably, I wasn't clear. I didn't mean to replace compat. I was thinking along the lines of no marks and no markers situation. I don't think you should replace anything because it is well established. I'll think about it a little more on this. For the newest, I agree it is a little bit abused by the newcomers.
