Actually, the version number is not yet transcendental, but a sequence of rational numbers approaching a transcendental number with each new version.

But this is not so good for slacking off, as you'll have to change the floppy regularly, if you have some megabytes of data.

You somehow have to make sure that your log file is encoded in UTF-8, too. I have no idea how to do this on Windows, though.

Please note that instead of redefining the "bold" command it would often be more appropriate to define a new semantic command with a speaking name about what you actually want to express with your bold red text, and use this instead of \textbf.
