Okay, now I'm talking about the italic corrections "before math".

comment Where can I download upref version 2.04?
@Dan, I tried that, and it did seem to work, but I was hoping to have my MiKTeX automatically download the "official" current version, just to be safe.

comment Keeping the distance between mathematical symbols consistent?
By the way, the fact that (for example) \medmuskip=1\medmuskip leaves the natural length of \medmuskip the same but keeps it from stretching or shrinking is mentioned on page 100 of Lamport's LaTeX 2e manual: "Multiplying a length command by a number destroys its elasticity, producing a rigid length." I thought I'd mention this because I'm not sure how common the knowledge of this trick is.

comment What is the practical difference between latex and pdflatex?
There is a package called breakurl that lets you make usable auto-breaking links under latex, at least when you make your .ps file via dvips.

comment Why this " (one symbol) works as one double quote as well
Why don't you get the sentence-ending space when you type ... quotation." And ...? Just wondering.

comment Reduce Spacing In $<a>$
I would use $\langle x\rangle$ instead of $\left<x\right>$, because \left and \right sometimes create delimiters of the wrong size and may also have other unwanted effects. I think $\bigl\langle x\bigr\rangle$ and $\bigl<x\bigr>$ come out exactly the same, though.

comment Getting less space in “$V$,”
But if you type For all $V,$ the theorem holds., then you don't get the "extra-stretchable and less-shrinkable" space after the comma, right? (I'm assuming we're using the default \nonfrenchspacing.) But if we're using the Computer Modern fonts, and the font outside the math is Computer Modern Roman, then the commas in $V$, and $V,$ will look the same, right?

comment Upright parentheses in italic text
\textup is a standard LaTeX 2e command. amsart does define \upn as shorthand for \textup. You can use \rom for \textup in amsart only if you're in compatibility mode.

comment Selectively turn off hyperref links
Would it be that bad to have clickable links all over if they didn't have any special colors or boxes around them in the PDF?
