comment Are dynamic defaults possible with kvoptions?
Thank you so much. I took the liberty of fixing one small, though important, bug. (:-))

comment How to generate robust verbatim bibliography data
@cmhughes Of course, it's still way beyond my TeXnical capacity, but "I get by with a lil' help from my friends".

comment How to generate robust verbatim bibliography data
@cmhughes Sort of. I had an email from a gitinfo2 user asking me to add facilities for printing the changelog (don't remember who, and I can't find the email - sorry). My reaction was that is was a long way beyond my TeXnical capabilities. But then, a few days ago, I woke up at 3:30 am and shouted "it's a bibliography". So I'm sort of starting to write the gitlog package. (Best wait sitting down, but you can have a peek here).

FFantastic! Now all I need to do is decent typography, github hyperlinks, etc, etc. (Sigh)

Wonderful - thanks! I thought I'd tried verbatim, but that was when I was still drowning in all the other problems. Give me a few minutes to retrofit, and I'll almost certainly accept this answer.

comment Problems creating a new kind of bibliography
@moewe : No, thank you, I appreciate that. My real problem was (will be) getting to grips with the different layers of bibliography entry formatting. I'm sure there'll be more questions later!

@moewe Yes, thanks, I had seen that, but had a great deal of difficulty understanding the answer (my fault, not yours! -- the example itself had complex requirements).

comment Beamer with Goettingen, xelatex: white space on top of the sidebar
lualatex doesn't appear to have this problem. Curious, though - this looks like it could be a (xelatex-induced) browser artifact. PdfXchange Viewer and the TexWorks viewer both show the white space, but it stays the same size even at 6400% zoom.

comment Various *sty files missing when using adjustbox
Two simple rules for a quiet life with TeX Live: (1) Use the built-in package manager (tlmgr) rather than your Linux package manager; and (2) install everything.

comment Documentclass Standalone - Outcome with rounded corners
How do you want these rounded corners to show themselves? E.g. you can just print square white corners on rounded paper, or embed the page in a round-cornered tikz frame. There's really no such thing as a "page with rounded corners" in the abstract sense.

Plus, if you're using the twoside class option, then the default margins for geometry are asymmetric (2:3).
