Thank you; all I can say is "true, but strange". :)

comment Comma format error (siunitx)
Seems like a curious value for the default? Would anyone know why? cc: @JosephWright

comment How do I edit PDF files produced by LaTeX in Illustrator? Fonts are not found
I agree with @doncherry that this is off-topic. The OP's needs are so grotesque he can't possibly be a TeX user, which I would see as the only possible reason for keeping this question here

comment Very long footnotes cause page breaks
This isn't, of course, an answer to your question as stated, but have you considered turning your footnotes into endnotes? In memoir, the command \foottopagenote automatically re-purposes the \footnote infrastructure, and all you need to add is one or more strategically placed \printpagenotes commands. 12.6 in the latest memoir manual. Your readers may prefer "long" footnotes this way, too...

comment how to protect pdf geneated from pdflatex and xelatex
Oh, BTW, and of course, if by chance you're trying to stop people copying, those without a secretary can just photograph the pages (or export them as images) and send them off to the google for character recognition.

comment Getting ! instead of comparison sign < in cases
If I put the $s outside the cases environment, your code works fine for me (though you may want \[ and \] to make it a display, rather than inline maths).

Would you like to share with us what you are trying to achieve? The answer may depend on why you want to limit editing (which is generally an inconvenience for your end user).

comment Calculating the ink coverage of a page
To be pedantic, in XeTeX and LuaTeX, you can chop the box up a little bit further by accessing the sidebearings, but this, of course, doesn't help you get at the position, nor the amount, of the actual ink in the glyph.

comment Use of Spanish in Babel results in unwanted text in final document
I ran your full MWE, which has \documentclass and \begin{document} 'in the right places', plus just the title page, and it appears to work perfectly.

Happy to see that, even though the result is a mess, the connections still work! (Almost)

comment How to draw this Venn Diagram in TikZ?
TikZ is a bit frightening at first sight (just the page counter in the pdf freaks me out on its own!), but don't be put off. Have a try, and if you get into difficulties, bring them back here and there are lots of clever people who should be able to help.
