comment Bibliography per chapter with continuous numbering
I've edited to add sorting=none to the biblatex option, necessary for this to work on TexLive 2013. It would be nice to get an example that did not rely on chapters. Simply each time \printbibliography is called, only new bib items are printed. I'm working on that change, but I am not proficient in TeX.

revised Bibliography per chapter with continuous numbering
Added "sorting=none" otherwise this does not work on my install of TexLive 2013.

comment How should I type author names in a bib file?
Comments below suggest First Last or Last, First are both OK, and seem to prefer First Last. I haven't found a definitive source, but I think Last, First is preferred, since it contains additional information (the comma as a delimiter). Certain 3rd party tools (RefTeX) understand Last, First but not First Last.
