comment How to avoid exceeding TeX capacity when using multi-page tables?
Yeah, it compiles when the number of rows is less than 900. I'm not very sure if my columns are correct, but as I said, they DO work when the number of rows is less than 900.

comment How to align table headers differently than all other table cells?
It seems to solve the problem! Thanks! (but I'll wait a few days before accepting the answer, just to see other solutions)

Geez... What does all of that mean? Care to add a small description of what's going on there, in plain English?

comment How to add a forced line break inside a table cell
\parbox works, but it requires me to type the desired column width. Thus, I lose the auto-column-size that happens otherwise. I bet \multirow will work, but the source-code will be a lot messy.

I did. I tried both \newline and \linebreak, but they only work in paragraph mode. cims.nyu.edu/cgi-comment/info2html?(latex)%5Cnewline

Great answer! I gotta look at the code sample later, with more time. You forgot to cite cjwunits and hepunits. ;-)

Nice! Since I was in a hurry, I didn't have enough time to read the siunitx documentation. I had tried something similar to this: \SI{$2.1 \times 10^{2}$}{\meter}, and I guess it failed because of math code inside this command.
