comment Simple text editor that uses LaTeX layout
You should definitely give LyX a try. It as a pretty decent math editor that combines online visualization with the possibility to either click or enter as commands the maths stuff. It even supports own macros with its online visualization. Note, however, that LyX should not be considered as a LaTeX editor. It features an own file format, but uses LaTeX as back-end.

comment tcolorbox: `height fill` as option to `tcbraster`
+1 for simple and elegant solution! I wasn't aware of the \pagegoal and \pagetotal lengths and wondered, which package one needs for that or if they are pdflatex specials. Apparent to the comments of this answer, however, they are TeX primitives, hence, available with any engine. Nice!

comment install package in subfolder
@einpoklum: That seems like overkill, really. – yes, it does. Until the day you have to rework a ten years old project, work on the same project on three or more different computers using different environments, work with 10+ people on the same project, or just have to pass the thing in a "way that works" to your colleague or boss.

Load one of the available color packages (e.g., \usepackage{xcolor}), which define the \color command.

comment How to check for more elements a foreach loop?
Hm... I have no clue what is actually asked here and how the question fits the answer (or vice versa). Maybe you can rephrase your question with the intended output? Even if your problem is solved now, it would help others with a similar problem.
