comment Problem working fontspec, babel and datetime with cyrillic
babel-russian avoids defining \cyr... commands when it detects xetex or luatex engines running. I believe that declaring these commands by hands is bad practice. It seems that datetime package should be upgraded to meet new trends in babel.

comment Importing plots from MATLAB to LaTeX
Tip: use width= option instead of scale when importing graphics. This scales graphics to desired sizes. Eg, \includegraphics[width=\textwidth]{graph2.eps}.

comment How do I get bibtexU working?
Thank you, @JosephWright. This is also my opinion. Just, I was contacted by a user of my package GOST who wrote that it fails with bibtexu. By the way, bibtexu is excluded from MikTeX. Isn't worth to exclude it also from TL?

comment Installation/usage of latexdiff on Windows 7
I did not manage to have latexdiff running on my computer with MikTeX 64bit. I carefully perform all steps described in techshangrila.blogspot.sg/2013/10/… but still have the error message latexdiff.exe: The Perl interpreter could not be found. What should I do?

comment Which packages that apply fixes should one load by default?
@marczellm: I put \RequirePackage{fixltx2e} before \documentclass{revtex} in order to compile my doucment with xelatex or lualatex since otherwise revtex class conflicts with those new engines.
