comment BibTeX: How can I automatically reduce long author lists to “xxx et al.”?
This works well. How should I change the code if I want to abbreviate any list that has more than 2 authors? Just change #5 to #2? What about the nameptr #3 in that case? Does it become nameptr #1?

comment How to draw a hypergraph (forest)?
Thanks, that looks great! It doesn't compile for me though. It complains about the ++(2,1) in the last draw command: ( expected after the first plus. Sorry if this is a trivial thing to fix, but I don't speak tikz (yet).

I didn't create it. I found it in this paper: citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/… (see PDF link on the right)

In my case, neither \sout nor \st work, even if I use the packages.

Strange. I have no idea how that happened. I personally don't care though. :)

@Martin: That actually seems to be a stack exchange bug. I have never registered as "user823".

comment How to switch from using color graphics to grayscale graphics?
Thanks! But unfortunately, many files in the different directories have similar names, e.g. path1/fig/illustration.pdf and path2/fig/illustration.pdf. I hope there's a way that doesn't require me to rename them to make globally unique names...

comment Aquamac AucTeX should open PDF in external viewer, not render it in Emacs buffer
Hmm, I'm not sure anymore. I thought it's automatically using AucTex, because the C-c C-c command kind of works, although in a different way than I'm used to. I'll check ...

Great, that's pretty much what I wanted. Thanks!

A similar service/app is Zotero (zotero.org). I use it a lot.

Hmm, where is the LaTeX menu? I only see a TeX menu, with items TeX File, TeX Buffer, Validate Buffer etc.

Thanks for the detailed description. I don't have tex-view-program though: No customizable items matching tex-view-program.
