How do I write an APA style compliant document using elsarticle.cls? @egreg We have this issue in some journals. I can't figure out why they can't let us leave the figures in place instead of forcing us to move them to the end ... even during the review phase. |

How do I best combine several documents? You can also look at pgfpages. |

Empty sections cannot be broken, making page look stretched out And now we have something that is useful for everyone :) |

newcommand for verbatim Oh, btw, I like to put a \small in there because the default monospace font is a little too big for my taste. I like my code snippets relatively equal to or smaller than my main font. |

Empty sections cannot be broken, making page look stretched out @BandGap I can certainly understand (as can the other people here) but they take time out of their busy schedule for us as well. So, even if we don't have time, the polite thing at the very least would be to not say that we're busy. |

Empty sections cannot be broken, making page look stretched out @BandGap It's bad mojo to say "I don't have time" on forums where you are likely to ask questions :) |

Changing the number of figure or equation automatically in text by changing the places of figures and equations +1 because it's something newbies would want to know but you should really read a LaTeX introduction e.g. "A not so short introduction to LaTeX". It will provide this and many other things that you don't even know you need :) |

Advantage of LaTeX presentations? @Gyom, try using minted in beamer. You will never want to go back to presenting code in powerpoint/impress or on the chalkboard. There's nothing better than syntax highlighted code for teaching programming related stuff. |

Two column text question and choices In that case, you can simply use a table, no? |

Adding packages to TeXnicCenter What error are you getting? It's unlikely that the package will not be found. Paste the error here and you can get better responses. |

BibTeX error in TexMaker {I couldn't open file name `test_bb.aux'} @Skipper07 I would recommend starting with TeXNicCenter if you're new to LaTeX. It eases the build process a lot. Simply install, run, tell it where to find MikTex, create a new document, set up a project (using Project->Create with Active Document as Main File, check BibTeX) and build project 3 times :) |
