comment Text following subequations is slightly indented if a label is used
All the answers were essentially the same, except you called my attention to the fact about subequations and it working in text mode. Thanks

comment Modifying reference style
@Andy I'm not sure how to do that, but as henrique said, it should probably be a separate question. Also, please consider 'accepting' my answer if it does in fact answer your question :)

@egreg In that case, why does also including a maths font (e.g. mathpazo - before tgpagella of course) not prevent this warning? Also, any clues on the Vim configuration? The Vim-Latex documentation is pretty difficult to get through!

@lockstep I will of course accept your answer if it is not outdone by another! I just wanted to make sure it was the best fix for the problem first.

This fixes it! So does tgpagella depend on the symbols defined by textcomp? If so, why doesn't it include it itself?! Thanks a lot!

comment How do you do non-numeric book editions in BibTeX?
@lockstep: For me, using the 'plain' style with pdflatex, it does not prevent de-capitalisation, and I get exactly the same result as without the second pair of braces.
