Using \label command in a custom command Wow, duh. Don't know why my mind randomly got set on \cite. I guess that's what happens when you haven't used LaTeX much for a while. Now I feel sheepish. =) Also, what's the appropriate thing to do with the question in this case? Should it be closed, deleted, or just left as it is? |

How can i shrink (or expand) the vertical spacing in \stackrel? @egreg Thanks for the comprehensive answer. A friend in my lab found the predefined symbol, but it didn't look good because the triangle was really small. I assumed that was why I had seen people define it themselves so much (that definition is actually in my department's thesis template). But, it turns out my friend was using the txfonts package, which is why it looked bad. Now you've gotten me curious to learn about how \ialign and \ooalign work. |

How do you put multiple paragraphs in a caption? Adding [LoF entry] seems to have done the trick. Thanks! |

How do you put multiple paragraphs in a caption? @egreg I didn't think there was either... But, my friend's document compiles with no errors when there aren't blank lines in his caption. When we put blank lines in to separate paragraphs, it's giving errors like Paragraph ended before \NR@gettitle was complete, Paragraph ended before \addcontentsline was complete and Extra }, or forgotten \endgroup. Any thoughts? |
