You can create a pdf portfolio with the embedfile package and create a link to the embedded pdfs with the hypgotoe package.

Thanks. However, this is basically similar to my current approach with the curl call in \immediate\write18 and a piped input using xmlstarlet to extract what I need from the SharePoint response xml. I was hoping that a more self contained solution existed that only relied on the LuaLaTeX executable and preferably only additional tools in TeXlive or things that can easily ship with the document.

You will make life easier for yourself if you use a different inputformat (e.g. csv) and then typeset and plot from that. The pgfplotstable and pgfplots packages will easily allow you to do that. You can even use the tools from pgfplotstable to define the data inline and then plot using addplot table <your data table>;
