revised How to make the number line?
Added screenshot. bend left/right takes an angle, not length. Bent C->B line a bit more to avoid overlap of node and straight line.

comment questions regarding table of contents
While it's good that you add an example code, it would be better if you made the example minimal and compilable as well. For example, I would think that you can reduce the document part of your code to \tableofcontents\chapter{Whatever that long chapter title was}, and much of the preamble can likely be removed as well.

Remove the pdftex option for graphicx, and remove \usepackage[latin1]{inputenc}.

Sounds like you don't want subfigures at all, but something like tex.stackexchange.com/a/111513/586 tex.stackexchange.com/a/5770/586

@JosephWright The number for footnotes is shown as subscripts rather than superscripts, as I understand it.

comment Footnote is placed below instead above key word?
The fact that you're using ShareLaTeX is actually irrelevant, most likely. A minimal working example (MWE) is more helpful.

comment Why picture is not clear?
pgfplots does that. There are other options, but I think pgfplots is the most widely used. (At least here on this site.)

See ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/37 and ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/2142 for some suggestions on how to export graphics from LibreOffice Calc. Another option is to do the plotting in LaTeX with e.g. pgfplots, see for example tex.stackexchange.com/questions/172881

Unrelated note: You've loaded graphicx and amsmath three times and amssymb twice. This really isn't necessary.
