comment Is it possible to put MS Excel graphs into a LaTeX document?
@CAF: No, PNG is a raster format, which means it is not scalable. PDF or EPS are much better.

comment No letters of certain fonts using winfonts package
@Guido: I know that. But pdflatex is much faster. This is not an urgent matter, but it would be better to have a faster compilation.

comment Why do the output fonts of Latex often appear fuzzy?
You are using T3 fonts? If you are using MiKTeX, chances are that you don't have T1 CM fonts. Load packages lmodern or other font change packages (fourier, mathdesign, txfonts, etc).

OK, I checked the About of Texworks in TeXLive and MiKTeX. The former uses Qt 4.8 while the latter uses Qt 4.7.

So TeXLive does not use Qt? It works perfectly.

You can specify the font by file name. That will always work.

@Mico: Do you know how to install microtype 2.5 beta in miktex?

comment Is it possible now to use microtype with opentype fonts?
@Mico: OK, it works. I thought that microtype 2.5 was included in TeXLive 2012, since it had been out before 2011.

Computer modern is a thin font. Maybe you should try times-like font, such as package mathptmx or txfonts.
