comment itemize in beamer - alignment of custom bullets
@Bernard: Can't add images to comments: i.imgur.com/aQQdnhN.png . The example wide symbol is \StopWatchEnd from ifsym package used first with \item[\StopWatchEnd] and second with \item[\clap{\StopWatchEnd}]. \clap centers around the tip of arrow-shaped default bullets and the symbol then sticks out to the right (I wrote left before, sorry).

comment itemize in beamer - alignment of custom bullets
Can this be generalized somehow so that mixing \item with \item[\customSymbol] works correctly? Default bullets are right-aligned (as if in \llap) and wider custom symbols stick out on the left.

comment itemize - alignment of custom bullet symbols
Can this be made to work with Beamer? When I use \setlist[itemize,1]{wide,labelsep=1em,align=center} and \SetLabelAlign{center}{\clap{#1}} , default itemize bullets become invisible and alignment is also incorrect. EDIT: nevermind, already covered in tex.stackexchange.com/questions/280568/… .

comment Is there a way to define a shorter command macro instead of \begin{equation} \label{}\end{equation}?
Something like \def\inserteq#1#2{\begin{equation}#2\label{#1}\end{equation}} (or use \newcommand if you are a purist) and then \inserteq{eq1}{x+y=1}?

comment How to pass options to latex compiler using rubber?
Apparently newer versions (I have 1.1) don't support setlist anymore, info rubber says one should just use set, like this: % rubber: set arguments --shell-escape.
