comment \hrule\hskip stretchability
Now that you say it... So much for the explanation what is going on (+1). Now I need something "stretchable between length x and length y". Does something like that exist?

comment \cshade makes an empty line after, How can I fix?
Welcome to TeX.SX! Please help us help you and add a minimal working example (MWE) that illustrates your problem. Reproducing the problem and finding out what the issue is will be much easier when we see compilable code, starting with \documentclass{...} and ending with \end{document}.

comment ERROR: You can't use a prefix with `\begingroup'
With updated TeX Live 2015 this works for me without errors. When you use the option "-file-line-error" with pdflatex, you should at least get information about which file the "line 20" is in. (Or maybe you can already get it from the .log-file?)

comment BibTex not working if .bib file not in the same folder
I have seen the use of additional brackets, e.g. \bibliography{{/home/thesis/referencesall}}{}, but I do not know whether it is helpful or harmful. And then there are operating systems which use "\" instead of "/" or only like directory names not longer than 8 characters. Also it might be necessary to first "go up a level" (or two) before going to "home", i.e. "../home" instead of "/home" could be necessary.

comment BibTex not working if .bib file not in the same folder
Maybe this can be helpful: Where should I put the bib-file to use it directly in \bibliography{bibfile}?

Did you try to use a file name without "_" for your bibliography?

comment Number of Chapter - Title Chapter fancyhdr
@ChristianHupfer: Well, you are right, my comment was too short. What I wanted to say was: We do not know when/where/how \chaptermark is used with which argument, thus without MWE it is not clear where (or whether) to add \thechapter{} - (or to change something else).
