(La)TeX is user-friendly. It's just that it choses its friends with care.

comment print B5 on A4 then crop
I suggest you take a look at the zwpagelayout and/or the crop packages. They are able to put crop marks on your hardcopy.

comment Including HTML code side by side in Latex
So what you actually want is to put two blocks of HTML code side by side, so it can be compared and stuff? could you post what you have so far?

@ALaufer: This is how babel was built. See here for a short answer and a starting point for further reading: tex.stackexchange.com/a/50638/7417

comment Import Simulink figures in LaTeX
This works only for figures. The actual model cannot be saved this way.

I think you have two options: (1) make a snapshot and insert the picture in your LaTeX file or (2) export the Simulink model to HTML, then convert to LaTeX: see here for this last step.

comment Are there any commands for extracting pictures (not only bitmap graphics but also line drawings) from a pdf file?
So what you actually want is the TikZ code of the picture in the PDF?

comment Can you get Vim to behave like TeXworks or vice versa?
I'm not sure this helps, but have you had a look at Sublime Text? There is a LaTeX plugin for that and it also has a so-called 'vintage' mode to emulate the functionality of Vim, but at the same time keeping all the features that make Sublime Text stand out, windowing included.

comment Automatically replace all |foo| with \abs{foo}
@jmite: It depends whether you have spaces around the |s. You could run the search to replace once the opening | and once the closing |. But I gather from your comment that this is not the case... My bad! :) ...and +1

Is Edit -> Replace what you're looking for? It has forward/backward search and is also case sensitive.

comment Problem with bibliography
As to your question: \nocite{*} will list all your reserences contained in the bib file you load. Are you trying to print all except one entry? Quick fix: you could for instance comment out the superfluous entry in the bib file for instance. (That works if you don't use that entry elsewhere.)
