With \usepackage[colorlinks=true,urlcolor=black]{hyperref} the TOC links become red, while with \usepackage[hidelinks]{hyperref} everything renders perfectly. This is the way to go :)

Thanks, but @Herbert's method seems to perform slightly better at formatting. The \mathlist option is surely very interesting and I'll probably end up using it some other time, but at the moment possibly breaking at every comma is exactly what I want to achieve, since the variables I'm listing are quite long tuples.

@egreg: hi, thanks for passing by. I think it may have something to do with the page numbers: the body with the contents is always centered, but the page numbers appears to its right and its left side (see my example compiled wit pdflatex). Unfortunately both the options you suggest lead to results different from the correct one.
