comment Set up TeXstudio to compile either a *.tex or a *.ltx file
latexmk will not autodetect ltx files, though it will compile them if you pass them the file with extensions. Can someone try autolatex? That might work but I don't have python installed.

comment What is going on with my PDFs filesize?
@egreg I'll double check, but I was pretty certain I had these uninterlaced since it increases the file size.

@R.Schumacher Reading the answers, they mostly focus on font compression, which is obviously not the problem here.

comment What is going on with my PDFs filesize?
@R.Schumacher I would say it is not: I'm not asking how to make the PDF smaller, I'm asking why the PNGs which are only 1.5 MB larger, cause a 7 MB increase in filesize.

comment chemical reactions
As a note; This would be trivial to create with [chemmacros](https://www.ctan.org/pkg/chemmacros?lang=en) and [chemformula](https://www.ctan.org/pkg/chemformula)

comment Nice(r) rasterizing of Latex PDF documents into images?
Try saving yours at the exact same resolution as his, then scaling them to the same: Downscaling images can make them look smoother and nicer then rendering them at the final resolution. Does that improve how yours looks? The other thing I can think of (No time to test it now) is that he is using the 'minimal' document class with some of his and directly saving it as png. You could go into chat and ask him.

comment Are there any packages for knitting?
It would be great if someone would write these up with a short description so I could accept an answer.

comment How do I insert an optional line break into a chemical forumula using the chemformula package?
Ok, it does work if I make the margins larger, so it obviously just doesn't like where I've told it to break.

Dammit, I can't get it to work in my actual formula, but I can't post it since I need to publish is.

comment Latex by using command lines in a terminal
@percusse Good to know. Typically I just forget then type d: after, but that would be useful in scripts.

comment Latex by using command lines in a terminal
@DanielaDiaz Well, I knew how the command line worked already, then I went to the wikibook (en.wikibooks.org/wiki/LaTeX) which is quite good and starts at a basic level. I recommend digging out a command line or MS-DOS introduction, reading the basics of that, then moving on to the wikibook. There are also a few really good threads on how to get started for beginners on here; I'd look them up.

@moewe Expand that into an answer and I'll accept it.

comment Is there a Bib entry type that combinds Online and Book?
@moewe Durr, that would be it; I use biblatex-chem most of the time (achemso or rsc the rest), which would make sense. I'll try it with URL=True. Thank you.

comment Set Antykwa Torunska to use Old Style Numbers in body text, instead of just small caps
@cfr Damn. Too bad. I don't use Xe/LuaLaTeX since no one supports them, so I don't want to bother learning how to do stuff that I'll never be able to actually use then get mixed up between versions.

comment How do I set up my config file to have latexmk default to making a pdf?
It would be, as a lot of software I need for work only runs on Windows, and my home P.C. is for gaming.

Dumb question: What is the Home directory on Windows?

Great, thank you. Now if only I could get the column headers centered it would be perfect.

comment ISO Date format with Biblatex/Biber?
Thanks. I had both in there with addbibresource commented out, I've switched it.
