comment Latex by using command lines in a terminal
@percusse Good to know. Typically I just forget then type d: after, but that would be useful in scripts.

comment Latex by using command lines in a terminal
@DanielaDiaz Well, I knew how the command line worked already, then I went to the wikibook (en.wikibooks.org/wiki/LaTeX) which is quite good and starts at a basic level. I recommend digging out a command line or MS-DOS introduction, reading the basics of that, then moving on to the wikibook. There are also a few really good threads on how to get started for beginners on here; I'd look them up.

comment Is there a Bib entry type that combinds Online and Book?
@moewe Expand that into an answer and I'll accept it.

comment Is there a Bib entry type that combinds Online and Book?
@moewe Durr, that would be it; I use biblatex-chem most of the time (achemso or rsc the rest), which would make sense. I'll try it with URL=True. Thank you.

comment Set Antykwa Torunska to use Old Style Numbers in body text, instead of just small caps
@cfr Damn. Too bad. I don't use Xe/LuaLaTeX since no one supports them, so I don't want to bother learning how to do stuff that I'll never be able to actually use then get mixed up between versions.

comment How do I set up my config file to have latexmk default to making a pdf?
It would be, as a lot of software I need for work only runs on Windows, and my home P.C. is for gaming.

Dumb question: What is the Home directory on Windows?

comment Create a table that fills a page with empty rows
Great, thank you. Now if only I could get the column headers centered it would be perfect.

comment ISO Date format with Biblatex/Biber?
Thanks. I had both in there with addbibresource commented out, I've switched it.

comment Should I load eTeX and/or fixltx2e by default
So, if I don't care about backwards compatibility (I'm writing new documents, not altering old ones), I might as well just copy and past fixltx2e into each document. e-TeX I could, but since I'll probably never need it, I might as well not worry about it as LaTeX will tell me if I do. Also: I did hit one of the non-robust things once, which is when I first heard of it.

@SeanAllred It is also the first link in my question.

comment I'm supposed to load some packages BEFORE the document class?
@PaulGessler I had no idea what to tag it, sorry about that. I expected someone to edit it to the right one. Best Practices perhaps?

comment Text color with hyperref package
@Gilson We are trying to diagnose a problem with one package. We want to eliminate the possibility another package is causing the problem. See: meta.tex.stackexchange.com/questions/3300/…

comment Text color with hyperref package
@Gilson That is far from a MWE. Look at all the packages in there. You want to use as few packages as possible to reproduce the problem, ideally just the one. Cut them out a few at a time and see if the problem goes away.

Yeah, there isn't much we can do until we have a full MWE that we can print ourselves and compare.

comment Remove ugly borders around clickable cross-references and hyperlinks
@Gilson I've not had that problem, at least, not that I've noticed. Could you make a new question with a MWE so I can test it out? Tag me in the comment please.

comment Save fillable forms
@doncherry I used to be a big fan of PDFCreator, but the last few times I've tried to download it, it has gotten dinged as having adware in it.

comment LaTeX Editors/IDEs
I use notepad++ for my bib files, as it is more bare bones and easier to get what I want done. Also if I don't use emacs a lot it is hard to flip into its shortcuts from windows programs, though I admit it is better for what I want to do.

Might it not be easier to figure out the format that ChemDraw outputs to when you select Postscript or SVG and then reparse that, rather then the binary file?
