I'm a Post-Doctoral Fellow in atmospheric remote sensing at the University of Toronto in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I first came to Stack Exchange for practical reasons: Tex.SE has been of major help when I wrote my licentiate (midterm) thesis. Since then, I have discovered the joy of many websites. As my network profile will show, I'm interested in travel, outdoor, scientific skepticism, and as I work in academia, also in academia and LaTeX.

comment Is there a ditto symbol?
I'm using it in a table where I'm starved for space and my entries are "primary, raw", "primary, smoothed", "secondary, raw", "secondary, smoothed". I don't have space to fit primary/secondary and smoothed/raw in its own column, nor to write it out in full, so I opt for "primary, raw", "---, smoothed", "secondary, raw", "secondary, ---", which saves a centimetre or two.

comment mhchem and beamer: use of `\ce` in title gives `Undefined control sequence.`
I will probably do that. Indeed, I have a working example but it's not very minimal...

Hmm. Although it solves the problem posted in the question, it has side-effects for the layout of the poster I'm trying to make.

@MomoTh You should try to figure out exactly what the problem is and then post it as a new question.
