I have edited the question to improve it, and narrow the focus in accordance with @Jubobs and Brent.Longborough's suggestions.

Oh stackexchange, you never fail to produce a swath of unhelpful commenters. This is why we can't have nice things. Although, here is a perfectly useful and civil discussion of a similar topic: tex.stackexchange.com/questions/10646/… but less centralized to a blog output. The main differences between my question and that? I want to include photos and the main subject matter is a blog, with comments and such. So @cfr, feel free to comment on that one too. ^_^

Design and format mostly. I don't mind copy/pasting the text, and formatting the pictures. Thanks for the clarifying question.

comment Continuous v. per-chapter/section numbering of figures, tables, and other document elements
@egreg I'm sorry, but I don't really understand your comment. It seems helpful, but I am a little confused. Could you be a bit more verbose? :/

How would I use the amsmath's numberwithin to achieve this numbering style on all defined theoremstyles? Sorry if this is answered above and I am just missing it.

I don't appreciate the edits to this question. I don't see how removing my thanks was necessary or even appropriate.

thank you, this was the solution I have used in the past, I just couldn't seem to find it in my old source code. Thank you so much for saving me the time of searching.

It appears that this requires mathjax to be installed on the server, and thus on my computer that I am using to edit the blog. Right?

Thank you! This is PERFECT! Also I appreciate you explaining why you wanted this hack yourself, I was having difficulty expressing myself in my question, but you captured it perfectly. Thanks so much.

defined theorem environments? Sorry if I am using strange terminology, I mean things like lemma, thm, corollary, etc.
