Are there any disadvantages of TeX being Turing complete? Do most distros disable reading the first line of the input for command-line switches? According to the comp.text.tex thread referenced above, you can put %& -enable-write18 at the beginning of a file to enable write18 even if it's disabled by default. (Although perhaps that is MikTeX-specific?) |
