Fellow (math) nerds,

There is no site - at least that I know of - which offers a Q&A format for questions regarding pets, their handling, their care, and their friendship. There are a few sites out there which are designed poorly, managed badly, and the answers leave a lot to be desired. So why not take a few seconds, think about pets that have touched your life so far, and then head on over to Pets.SE to help push it into the next stage. The SE family is the perfect fit for a site about pets, and it needs your support to thrive.

Alright, well after fighting this for a while, I finally just switched to TeXLive 2010, and it works like a charm. Thanks for everyone who helped out!

OK I got a hyperref version of 2008/11/18 v6.78m, but I just installed the newest version?

@Juan: Thanks for the suggestion, I tried that, still getting the duplicate error. Is there a way I can get version numbers, etc., for all the packages I'm using, if that would be helpful?

@Lev Bishop: OK, I am no longer getting the thmtools warning. But I am still getting the duplicate warning, and the links are still not working. I am relatively new at this. Do you know what could be wrong?

Yes, this pretty much is what I ended up doing. It's mentioned somewhere in the hyperrer documentation (I think) that it doesn't play well with amsmidx, and so I have to load amsmidx after hyperref (which of course means my indices aren't linked). I'm thinking of just using the book class and multind at this point (I really like linked PDFs!)
