comment How to draw this picture with Latex?
What you need is called TikZ. Your simple drawing is covered in the tutorial of the manual: texample.net/media/pgf/builds/pgfmanualCVS2012-11-04.pdf

comment There is a more compact way for drawing this quarter-car model?
Many of your coordinates and shapes/nodes are 'hard'-coded. I would say that it would be better to define styles and use decoration, for future reuseability and alignment. The notion of better and bedst is unfortunately subjective.

comment Table with foot note
@Eden Harder: It is the dcolumn package by David Carlisle. It is all explained on the first page of the manual: mirrors.dotsrc.org/ctan/macros/latex/required/tools/dcolumn.pdf

comment Faulty plot of logarithmic function
If you do not already know it, you should look into PGFplots. It works with(on top of) TikZ, and meets all your plotting needs.

comment Drawing a circle and two of its tangent lines
For me, it is not clear, what your problem is. You are speculating on what will make your figure better, but do not write why you can not implement that yourself. Just posting something and telling people to do the work is not sensible.

comment When hyphenation of a word includes an additional letter
@DustByte: "applies to many Scandinavian words" ... I am from Denmark, and I have never heard of this tripling of consonant before. Is there a wikipedia site, or other reference describing this phenomenon?

comment Axes in tikz, figure shows but there is a compiling error
By uncommenting your code, you can find the exact line that is causing trouble, and by modifying and comparing, you can find what in that line is wrong. Here is what you will finde: A node must have a (possibly empty) label text
