@TorbjørnT.: Your solution is not working for (2,-1.5) and (3.4,-0.5). It is only drawing the arc one way.

@juanuni: Of course, that will work. But that is not how I have built my collection of bibliographies (there are a large number of references) and I want a way to automatically have a comma.

I thought of that. The problem is that the first item is entirely shifted. If the first item consists of text which is more then one line, then the entire block of text is shifted which doesn't look nice. Is there a way to have only the first line of the first item shifted?

@clemens: If I try \setlength{\leftskip}{1in} then all the items are shifted. I need only the first item shifted.
