comment Setting LaTeX => PS => PDF in RStudio
I do not think it is possible in RStudio (at least at the moment).

I hate promoting my own package, but alas, this problem just keeps on surprising users... See tex.stackexchange.com/questions/199015/…

comment Tabs Affecting Compilation of SWeave Code
@Fran No, it is not an advantage, but it is very rare that one wants to write a literal code chunk, so this normally does not hurt. From all the feedback I have received so far, the headache of the incompatibility rarely becomes a real problem, and for the very few users who came from Sweave, they were happy to use Sweave2knitr() once and never went back, so I'm not terribly worried about it. Again, from what I have seen, it is more surprising to users that indenting a code chunk makes it fail to work than continuing to work.

comment Tabs Affecting Compilation of SWeave Code
@Fran It is possible to compile a code chunk literally (without interpreting it as an R code chunk), which is FAQ 8: bit.ly/knitr-faq From my side, there is no point sticking to the Sweave-specific syntax, since it is much less flexible and sometimes confusing (e.g. true vs TRUE). Just a personal opinion, and not surprisingly, very biased :)

No worries. Let's leave it to people who can do it. I cannot do it, either.

comment Using knitr, beamer, and /foreach to produce unique section titles in pdf from R string variable
That is correct. People often mix R programming with LaTeX programming, which is not possible in knitr. R/knitr knows nothing about LaTeX programs.

comment knitr. Splitting a function into several blocks
@DanWright You can combine the two chunks into a third chunk, then evaluate it, e.g. <<part3, ref.label=c('part1', 'part2')>>>=

comment How to export changes from a .tex file back to the source .Rnw file
That will be difficult. I'd recommend working with the real source file, i.e. .Rnw, since .tex is a derived and intermediate output file. It is not easy to go back.
