Thanks. It works great now. I saved the timeline library in timeline_library.tex and then used the \input command in my preamble. Your way is probably better.

Thanks. I was wondering it is possible to say something like \phase{between week=1 and 4,involvement degree=3cm} and have the phase bubble cover the the timeline from January to July. With the current settings the bubble is place at a certain position between the points. I don't want that. I would like the bubble (or another shape, maybe a rectangle) to go from the starting position to the end position.

Is it possible to use months instead of years? I would like to have August, September, October, ..., July?. Thank you

comment Is there a way to have coloured hyperref hyperlinks in the PDF, but have them print “as if” they were black?
@BenLerner Have you had any luck incorporating your patch into hyperref? Isn't Heiko Oberdiek an active member of this site?

comment Refsection and \includeonly warning
If I delete the aux files then (i) bar.tex chapter instead of being chapter 2 becomes chapter 1 (counter values are lost) and (ii) if from that bar.tex I have a reference to foo.tex (such as \ref{cha:foo}) then by deleting foo.aux the reference is lost (so basically I'm losing every advantage of using \include).

You are right, it is warning, sorry for that. How do I do to show every value symbolic x coordinate as a tick in the x axis? In your answer I only see 6 values. Thanks!
