I am using the IEEEtran class for a conference paper. In order to write acknowledgements, I use \IEEEoverridecommandlockouts. Unfortunately, LaTeX compilation returns many errors, such as "misaligned tab or misplaced \maketitle". What should I do?

Welcome to TeX.SX! Please add a minimal working example (MWE) that illustrates your problem. It will be much easier for us to reproduce your situation and find out what the issue is when we see compilable code, starting with \documentclass{...} and ending with \end{document}. – jub0bs Jul 28 '13 at 17:35
  • This may be of interest. – jub0bs Jul 28 '13 at 17:46
  • A tip: If you indent lines by 4 spaces, they'll be marked as a code sample. You can also highlight the code and click the "code" button (with "{}" on it). Also, please make your code compilable, starting with \documentclass{...} and ending with \end{document}. That may seem tedious to you, but think of the extra work it represents for TeX.SX users willing to help you. Help them help you: remove that one hurdle between you and a solution to your problem. – jub0bs Jul 28 '13 at 18:06

If I make your code compilable by appending \end{document} to it, I get no error, only a warning from the caption package, which is loaded by subfig. – jub0bs Jul 28 '13 at 18:09
