I was hesitating between classic and banking style:

  • Personal Information Part: banking < classic, because banking took lots of space, way too many lines.
  • Body Part: banking > classic, because banking style is more compact with comfortable space.

I want personal information with classic style but body still in banking style. Copy/paste/replace certain lines in banking.sty file will work? I am not sure, hope you guys could help me out.

Attached is the expected snapshot. Header and body are generated with \moderncvstyle{classic} and \moderncvstyle{banking} flags respectively. Crop them and upload here.

The header is easily customizeable. However, you should at least create a something that the community can play with in the form of a minimal working example (MWE)... perhaps two! One for banking and one for classic, so interested members can take from either. – Werner Nov 24 '13 at 22:53

Can I find your Master's thesis online somewhere? I hope it has a semantic differentiation otherwise I can just submit empirical counter evidence without any personal argument :) – percusse Nov 24 '13 at 23:14

There may be a smarter way but, you can copy this (from moderncvstyleclassic.sty) in your preamble (just before \begin{document} say):
