Here is my code adapted from the TikZ manual. I would like to do an agricultural calendar, but I am having trouble with the positions of the nodes. I appreciate any help. Thanks.

You could add a parameter to the termin to specify positioning options. Below I have applied a left=2.5ex positioning to the "Soybean planting" and a right=1.5ex to the "Soybean harvesting".
