I defined a macro \Remark[<width>]{<text>} which can be set with \rput[<pos>](<node>){...} to a node which is the last (additional column) in psmatrix:

\documentclass[12pt, a4paper, x11names]{article}

\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}

\usepackage{mathtools}%,amsfonts,amssymb,latexsym

\newcommand*{\upstrut}[1]{\rule{0pt}{#1}}% creates an invisible rule of height #1
\newcommand*{\negstrut}[1]{\rule[-#1]{0pt}{#1}}% creates an invisible rule of deptht #1

With offsetA|B you can move the line up and down. I had some problems with copy and paste and the greek symbols. I hope I used the right one.

  • It´s good, but for 7 or 8 notes, lines-notes between node and boxnote could overlaping – Mika Ike May 5 '14 at 8:37
  • Usually in table footnotes, one uses small lowercase letters (a, b,…). That would avoid confusion. I think. – Bernard May 5 '14 at 9:06

    @MikaIke: sure, but you can place the note also on the left side, choose only another empty column like the right one. – user2478 May 5 '14 at 11:08
